Tony Mundine - "Don't sing the National Anthem"

Boxer Tony Mundine's chip on his shoulder gets heavier every year, but his latest hate speech takes the cake.

He wants the NRL in Sydney and the AFL players in Melbourne to boycott the National Anthem at this weekend's football finals.

Last night he shared a video on social media urging people to make a stand against racism by boycotting the anthem. Why?  Because he believes white Australians hate Aboriginal people and treat them badly.

Not true.

I remember well the Reconciliation March across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on 28 May 2000 - 250,000 people turned out and for five and a half hours, a continuous stream of people made their way across the famous Sydney landmark in support of, and respect for, Aboriginal people.  And millions more were with them in spirit. It was the largest political demonstration ever held in Australian history.

So his imagined hatred white Australians have for Aboriginal people just isn't there.

So if you are lucky enough to have tickets to the finals this weekend, sing up and sing loud.

Was Phoebe Handsjuk's death an accident?

Coroner Peter White determined that Phoebe Handsjuk's enthusiasm for climbing and physically challenging activity played a part in her decision to climb into a garbage chute in her apartment building and fall 12 storeys (40 metres) to her death.

He believed a high alcohol level combined with the sleeping pill Stilnox found at the autopsy, caused her to enter 'a state similar to that of sleepwalking' and he concluded that her death was an 'accident.'

Had he ruled an 'open finding', police could have persisted with their inquiries but the case was closed and many questions remain unanswered.

But Phoebe didn't die straight away, she crawled around leaving a bloody trail, looking for a way out but her leg was almost completely severed and she bled to death in the dark.

Last night on 60 Minutes, her mother and grandfather - a retired police detective - allege that it's possible her live-in boyfriend, Antony Hampel - the son of a prominent legal family - had something to do with her death.

Broken glass fragments were found on the floor of the apartment as well as blood on a computer keyboard and mouse.

Her family said it was absurd to suggest she could physically climb into the small space unassisted while intoxicated.  "I believe she was put into that chute by someone else" Mrs Handsjuk said.

"It seems to me there was enough evidence to suggest something had gone on in the apartment before she went down the chute.......there could have been an accident, or some sort of confrontation, it might have been a panic situation, I really don't know" she said.

The family want the case reopened but cannot afford to appeal the Coroner's decision.

How sad when the system rules against you and all it takes is money to find the truth about what really happened to this beautiful 24 year old girl.

Foster-father Rick Thorburn arrested for murder

Rich Thorburn

Rick Thorburn was overcome with grief as he helped carry the coffin of his 12 year old foster-daughter Tiahleigh Palmer at her funeral, so it was a shock to everyone when police arrested him yesterday for her murder.

But not only did police arrest him, but his wife and two sons.

And now we learn that after he was charged at the police station yesterday, he tried to harm himself and was rushed to hospital and he is now in an induced coma.

Trent Thorburn

It is alleged that his son, 19 year old Trent admitted to a cousin on Facebook that he had slept with the 12 year old shortly before she disappeared and was worried she could be pregnant.  Taihleigh is alleged to have told her foster-mother about it.

The Thorburn family

Trent Thorburn faced court today charged to incest, perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice over Taihleigh's death. He was denied bail.

Today, Thorburn's wife Julene 54, and his other son Josh 20, have been charged with perjury and attempting to pervert the course of justice and released on bail.

Tiahleigh Palmer

Tiahleigh was last seen alive on 30 October 2015 when she was dropped off at school.  Her body was found a week later on the banks of the Pimpama River on the northern Gold Coast.

There have been suggestions that children in foster care have been at risk for a long time, and this case demonstrates that a thorough investigation is long overdue.

Is Derryn Hinch falling off the wagon?

Newly elected Senator Derryn Hinch 72, has turned out to be a big disappointment.  Once a hero for going to prison rather than pay a fine for releasing the name of the Jill Meagher's killer, and his constant crusade against keeping paedophiles names secret, he's done the unthinkable.

After receiving a life-saving liver and promising his surgeons never to drink again, Hinch is losing his resolve to stay away from alcohol.

He claimed his surgeon gave him permission to drink again but Mike Ahern, chairman of the Australian Liver Foundation said no competent doctor would ever say such a stupid thing.

Mr Ahern said that Hinch needed to admit he is an alcoholic and 'get off the booze completely' after his ex, Natasha Chadwick exposed his drinking habits on Twitter.

"I've had the odd glass of wine, perhaps one-third wine and two-thirds water with Natasha at birthdays and events like Christmas" he said.

Not true, according to the Herald Sun.     "......since then he's been back on it regularly, starting the day with non-alcoholic beer for breakfast, then moving to his Edenvale non-alcoholic wine and then moving on to harder stuff" an unnamed source said.  "He's even spent an afternoon at a pub in Redfern and come home stinking of alcohol" they added.

In Hinch's maiden speech in the Senate, he humbly acknowledged the sacrifice Heath Gardner's family made to save his life and give him their loved one's liver.

One can only imagine what they are thinking now.

William Tyrrell $1 million reward

On 12 September 2014, 3 year old William Tyrrell was playing in the front yard of his grandmother's home at Kendall, a small country town on the NSW mid-north coast, when he suddenly disappeared.

And two years on, police still have no idea  what happened to him.

This week, police announced a $1 million reward for any information concerning his disappearance, the largest reward  ever offered in the state's history.

Inspector Gary Jubelin

Inspector Gary Jubelin said "If you've got information regarding William's disappearance and you've got concerns that you could be potentially complicit in the offence, by concealing the offence, that offence will be negated the moment you come to police."

He said anyone who comes forward will have their identity protected and he would personally guarantee the safety of any informants.

"I'm confident it's only a matter of time before we find out what happened to William and if we come to you - the reward is off the table" he said

So the disgusting workings of the paedophile's mind has parents everywhere terrified to leave their little child unattended while playing alone in their own front yard.

And police say they have 690 deviant scumbag persons of interest, so what hope have parents got?

Daniel Morcombe's killer won't get out of jail alive

Daniel Morcombe

Sometimes news stories are depressing, but this one isn't.  It seems that paedophile Brett Cowan, who killed Daniel Morcombe, is having a rough time in prison.

Thanks to Daniel's parents, who never gave up the search and kept Daniel's face on the front page of every newspaper and television channel every week, Daniel Morcombe became a household name throughout the country.

Brett Cowan

His killer was finally found by excellent police work and brought to justice and is currently housed at Wolston Correctional Centre. And the word is, according to ex inmates, that he will never get out alive and the man who finally kills him will be a hero.

"I hope the public know that he's not getting an easy ride in there, it's a living hell for him" a former inmate said.

He was let out of the protective wing into general population and last month Adam Paul Davidson allegedly poured a mop bucket full of boiling water over him before giving him a solid beating.  He is now permanently disfigured, but alas, back in protective custody.

What a shame.

Azad Chaiwala's polygamy UK websites

Aaliya Brown and Azad Chaiwala

Azad Chaiwala, a Muslim in the UK who runs polygamy matchmaking websites Polygamy.com and Secondwife.com said today on morning television that men who want a second wife are born that way, just like homosexuals are born gay.

He told Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain that he has over 100,000 members who pay 20 pound a month to belong.

He said "There's an institute in this country called marriage and we must admit that it breaks down because of infidelity and there are a lot of men, decent men, who find it hard because they don't want to have affairs, but they have an urge."

Morgan said "Well hang on, we don't have Sharia law here - we don't have multiple wives for husbands - you want to have your cake and eat it too - if you want this, go and live in a Muslim country where it's law."

Apparently Muslim men can have second wives in faith-based services or civil ceremonies, in other words under Sharia law which is tolerated but not recognised as law in the UK.

Ms Brown was then asked by Suzanna Reid why she would want to be anybody's second wife rather than a sole partner.

"It's a matter of filling a void - would I rather be lonely or sharing a good husband?"

Ms Reid then said she was accepting a poor compromise but she denied this.  "Sometimes it could be a compromise but it depends what you are looking for.

Mr Chaiwala is himself looking for a second wife but says he hasn't found her yet because he's very fussy.  When asked if his wife was happy about the idea, he said no, she was "not entirely happy."

Mr Chaiwala seems to be saying that if his Muslim male customers are not content with one partner and are sexually unfulfilled, by taking another wife, it's an honourable way of fixing the problem.

Salim Mehajer banned from managing corporations for three years

by

Journalist
Sydney

The flamboyant former deputy mayor of Sydney’s Auburn, Salim Mehajer has been banned from managing corporations for three years to protect the public from his “incompetence” after the corporate regulator found his business conduct “lacked commercial reality”.
In an unusual situation, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission this morning announced it had banned Mr Mehajer in November last year — three months after his opulent wedding drew attention to allegations of corruption at Auburn Council — but he had appealed the decision and also successfully obtained court orders suppressing disclosure of the banning order.
On August 19 the Administrative Appeals Tribunal upheld ASIC’s decision to disqualify Mr Mehajer and found the property developer had “adopted a cavalier approach” to managing two of his failed companies.
Those companies were SM Property Developments and SM Engineering and Constructions, which owed over $1 million to the Australian Taxation Office as well as money to other creditors.
ASIC’s banning orders in November last year came after an investigation by The Australian uncovered alleged serious irregularities with the way those companies had been operated.
The AAT decision upholding ASIC’s order was itself subject to a suppression order which expired midnight last Friday night.
It was immediately unclear why courts would grant suppression orders over such information to the detriment of transparent processes.
On Saturday, hours after the suppression order expired, Mr Mehajer posted to Instagram a picture of a ship on Sydney Harbour with the words “Goodbye Australia”.
“Will be taking off to pursue my dream challenges,” he wrote, along with the words “I’ll be back”.
The apparent departure comes a week after the public inquiry into Auburn Council wound up hearings.
The entire Auburn Council was sacked in February ahead of the inquiry, which was brought about following concerns over the close links between property developers and Auburn councillors.
ASIC found Mr Mehajers “inability to manage corporations to the standard expected of him” caused the two property development companies to collapse.
He had failed to ensure SM Project Developments “maintained adequate financial records” and to ensure it lodged legally required returns with the ATO, and only provided required information to the company’s liquidator “after ASIC took criminal proceedings against him”.
“ASIC also found Mr Mehajer’s conduct lacked commercial morality in that he allowed SMPD to collect GST of $315,192 from the sale of townhouses but failed to remit it to the ATO,” ASIC said in a statement this morning.
In July The Australian revealed Mr Mehajer was alleged to have moved $20m to Lebanon and NSW Police were understood to have prepared a report on the transfer.
The transfer was not illegal but is understood to have drawn the attention of authorities because of the controversy surrounding Mr Mehajer.

Hamdi Alqudsi sentenced to six years

If the same situation had occurred in the USA, I believe this man would have received a much longer jail sentence, but here in Australia, once again, our judiciary has let us down.

Justice Christine Adamson sentenced Hamdi Alqudsi, a 42 year old disability pensioner with two wives, to eight years jail with a non-parole period of six years for helping seven men go to Syria to fight with ISIS. However, he never had any intention of going himself.

He cried when his sentence was read and called out to his wives that he loved them and then held up his index finger - a salute associated with the terrorist organisation ISIS - before being lead away to the cells.

Six of the men he helped arrived in Syria and two of the men, Tyler Casey and Caner Temel died in the fighting.

Justice Adamson said Casey Tyler met Alqudsi while at court in 2011 when one of his wives, Carnita Matthews, was being prosecuted for claiming a police officer was racist and pulled off her veil.  But what she didn't know was that the officer had the camera running in his patrol car which clearly showed that he had not touched her.  She was later acquitted on appeal.

Alqudsi told the court he loved Australia and taught his step grandchildren to sing Waltzing Matilda. Any wonder he loves Australia, he, his wives and many children are all supported by the taxpayer.

He came to Australia from Palestine with his parents and siblings when he was 11.  He worked as a security guard and then as a packer at Woolworths where in 2010, he injured his back.

He will be eligible for parole in 2022.
